About myself |
Let me introduce myself, my name is Steve. I live in Nottingham, which is a city in the Midlands in the United Kingdom. I would very much like to have some female friends to share things with, who have the same beliefs and values as myself; I am a Christian. I hate doing these things; never know quite what to say about myself. I guess, ultimately, I am looking for that special soul mate and companion, someone to share life?s highs and lows with. I am an honest person and I just want new friends, if things develop further then great, if they do not then that is fine too. My qualities are; I am caring, dependable, a good listener, honest, intelligent, romantic at heart, good at thinking things through, and I have a good sense of humour.College: Hereward College of Further EducationMusic: My musical taste is very wide and varied. I have seen live Marillion, Phil Colins, and The Gospel According to Cliff Richard. I have been going to the Cambridge Folk Festival for many years. I like 80's music, Christian music, and much more.TV: I watch quite a range of stuff, 2 soaps which are Emmerdale and Coronation Street. I watch these while I am having my evening meal. I think they are probably as bad as my programme choice gets; they are fairly pointless in terms of whatever you can get out of them, mindless light entertainment really, although they do give you a good insight in to the values of today's society. I would not loose any sleep if I had to give up my soaps anyway. I do feel more committed to Casualty and Holby City as medical dramas make you think about issues people have to face. I like detective / murder mystery dramas like Inspector Morse, Midsummer Murders, and Silent Witness; which gets the brain working. I like comedies like Only fools and Horses, One Foot in the Grave, and Keeping Up Appearances etc. I like documentaries on how things work or are constructed.Books: I am not a great reader, but one novel I have read is Skallagrigg by William Horwood. When I read it I found it quite amazing because I could identify myself in many aspects of the feelings the characters experience. Arthur, a disabled boy in the early twentieth century, and Esther, a young woman in the present with cerebral palsy, search for the elusive, mysterious Skallagrigg. Esther, her two disabled friends and her father go on a journey through rural Britain's institutions for the disabled, looking for pieces of the Skallagrigg legend. As they search, Arthur's harrowing life, seen in flashbacks, and the true meaning of the Skallagrigg become closer and closer.Interests: I enjoy going to the cinema and theatre. I like films that make you think or show the ironies in life. I keep fish and find them relaxing to watch. I like to travel to experience different parts of the world when I can. I have been to Florida, the Caribbean, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Holland, and many of the Greek islands.Movies: Any film with a reasonable story line is okay, but I do not like horror, westerns, science fictions like Star Wars, or anything that is too unbelievable. The Lethal Weapon movies come to mind as favorities, with Mel Gibson and Danny Glover, just the way they can laugh at their own impossible and ridiculous situations, and crack jokes with a certain irony when under great pressure.BestFeatures: I'm not telling, that's for you to discover!Dreams: I guess, ultimately, to find my special soul mate and companion.
