| About myself |
About: Just had my aura photo taken for the 4th year in a row. I don't know if there is any scientific proof of how this works but it does seem to reflect my journey. From anger and stress to spiritual understanding and intellectual growth. Perhaps I am an egotist and just pick out the best bits and forget the bad comments? Life is certainly a journey and we make the choices of where we sit on the carriage, beside the cattle or beside the Angels (for want of a better word). I run workshops on Attitude - where we get it, how it affects our life and how we can change it. Some of the successes from these workshops are astounding. Mainly with the fairer sex, some of whom seem to carry an excess of negative baggage and negative self-talk. We are all subject to taking on board the thoughts, beliefs, comments and negativity of others. Unfortunately, some of us merely drop our parents or partners negativity for those of lesser understanding who have their own baggage to infect us with.Music: Almost all types but not heavey metal and I have not been able to appreciate opera. There is nothing more relaxing than listening to some of the graet classics and i must admit that I do enjoy the romantic music of the Russian composers. Don't get me wrong, I love pop, rap, R & B, Hip-hop, Jazz, blues and even some Country and some ballads at the right time..TV: Sadly a little bit of an addict - but working on it. Love some of the great documentaries nowadays. The way the portray the events in a human way rather than just the facts. The motivations, dreams and aspirations of the protagonists give the historiacl events a fresh life. Some of the more quirky comedy and drama shows are worth watching Gill Mayo, Boston Legal, Packed to the Rafters seems to be ok at the moment. But would love to ba able not to switch the TV for a week. i might set myself a goal!!!Books: Love to relax with an escapist Sci Fi book at night. Not Sci fantacy but something from an autor with a scientific backgroung. Then I have my other books that I have been neglecting for a while. Something biographical or inspirational. I have had a enough of the 'mind-set'type books. Everyone seems to have there own slant on what is the Real Secret and there is just too much of variations on a theme. Mt bible for many years is "Thress Magic Words" by US Anderson. It was writtn decades ago and is the basis of all the 'Secret" wannabees that are out there. I buy this on the internet in 3's and give them out to those who are still seeking some form of 'truth'.Sports: None of my family were ever into sports other than lawn bowls and even then they had to have retired before getting involved. Badminton, karate (brown belt), sailing, rally driving, white water rafting, sky diving (when I can afford it) are sports I have, and still in some degree, partisipate. I enjoy watching tennis, a good football match (any code), my cousin owns an Indy car team so I follow that and enjoy spending the weekend with the team when they are here on the Gold Coast. Extreme sports on occassions, the Olympics are fantastic and I really enjoy the winter games.Interests: I am interested in a very wide spectrum of things. Nature, from the flora and fauna to geography and geology, astronomy and astrophisics (did a short course at Edinburgh Uni)anthropology and biology, psychology and almost every other 'ology' can stimulate my intellectual juices. Not an egg-head but I just have a healthy desire for knowledge and understanding of what life is realy all about for every angle. The word "Wise" was a common word when I was growing up. I never hear of anyone being called 'wise'. I think that this might be due to the fact that wisdom comes from accepting the responsibility when something goes wrong and we learn (become wise) because of this. Today we never take responsibility for anything - we blame others for our mis-fortune and hope that we can sue them for allowing us to become drunk and falling in front of a taxi. Sue the barman and sue the taxi driver but never admit that you were an idiot for getting drunk in the first place.Movies: Movies that move me - movies that are still in my mind a few days later and ones that remain with me forever. Joux Noel, Dr Zhivago, Attonement (I think because my father was one of the first to be evacuated at Dunkirk and I found thos images surreal), and a few more that escape my memory at the moment.BestFeatures: Probably that I see myself on a journey which stops me from believing that I know everything. It would take my 20 lifetimes to gather all that i would like to know. Compassionate, encouraging, honest, empathatic, opern-minded, non-judgemental, loving and a (hopeful) balance of giving and needing.Dreams: Dreams might or mightnot ever come true. I prefer to have goal that i can work towards and enjoy the journey to there fulfilment. Travel and meeting people, New adventures and new skills. South America is a treasure trove of new experiences for me and a six month stay in Rio as a base is one of the goals. 3 Months in France, some time in the Spanish country side, The Grand Canyon and a few others are all on the drawing board.
